Five black actresses struggle to make it in Hollywood...a down in the trenches "how to" closeup of what aspiring stars go through.

synopsis:
This documentary is a fascinating story of five young black actresses trying to make it in Hollywood. The film consists of some 30 episodes, each showing different aspects of their everyday lives. The camera follows the girls going to auditions, interviewing with agents, managers and casting agents, and working at various odd jobs while pursuing their dreams and acting in showcases and student movies. We begin to understand the pressure of competition and the difficulties of racial stereotypes and barriers. We feel their ups and downs and get to know them in their personal lives. This is a movie about determination, persistence and desire to succeed against all odds.
