ROTTEN COTTON
The lives of two Alabama families are comically highlighted, then dramatically change in an event-filled weekend family gathering, with an impulsive, charismatic rebel-lite teenage girl—white with a black boyfriend—the instigator. Set in l965 in Huntsville, Alabama, against a backdrop of the Civil Rights Act and racial tensions.

DOING IT ALL
An epic story, written as a first novel by DRUGSTORE COWBOY author James Fogle about Mel and Terry, a less violent BONNIE AND CLYDE couple on the road, running from a self-appointed detective who grew up in the same town as Mel and is determined to track him down and achieve money and fame. Meanwhile, Terry tries to reform Mel, with mixed results, while giving him the most love and stability he’s ever known.

DRUGSTORE COWBOY II
Ten years later, Matt Dillon lives with his mom, plays golf with the cop who previously pursued him, holds a job and faithfully goes to drug counseling when James LeGros and Kelly Lynch show up on a motorcycle running from the cops with Kelly bleeding from a gunshot in her thigh, and, when she goes inside, bleeding all over mom’s carpet. This sequel continues the drama and wacky comedy of the first movie, and features Matt’s struggle to redeem his own life and Kelly’s as well, getting her off drugs and winning back her love while being pursued by two rogue cops.

WOODY AND WANDA HEAD UPSTREAM
Two salmon enter the Columbia River in 2070, when salmon are thought to be extinct. Big budget, epic-length story as three people—a computer nerd scientist who won a place on a lottery hover-craft halibut hunt, a Greenwatch half-Indian women denying her heritage who tried to stop the hunt, and a grizzled sea captain who used to fish salmon out of Alaska—team up to try to help the salmon make it past a minefield of dams, theme parks and corporate privatization up the Columbia River to spawn. They also have to thwart the efforts of computer/coporate-hired hitmen, who are out to kill the salmon. A mix of human, animal and mythological story elements. Spielbergesque.

CIRCLE DRIVE
Action comedy about newlyweds who have their bare house on Circle Drive inexplicably ripped up inside by thugs armed with chain saws and crowbars, then find themselves desperately fleeing from the same men and cops as well, with no idea why it’s all happening. Their perceived “perfect” relationship begins to unravel and they blame each other and find flaws they didn’t see before, as they are forced to hide out in a U-Haul holding their furniture and solve the mystery of their dilemma. It turns out they went to the wrong house in a development where all the houses look the same and the streets have similar names—Circle Drive, Circle Lane, Circle Place, Circle Way. They eventually tear up their real house after they find it and suspect it’s been insulated with money.

THE THIEF AND THE STRIPPER
Based on a James Fogle (DRUGSTORE COWBOY author) short story. A thief gets out of prison and immediately is chased and handed divorce papers. He confronts his wife at a strip club, who says, “What kind of husband is always in jail?” To which he replies, “What kind of wife is always naked in front of other guys?” She responds, “You don’t even know you have a 4-year-old daughter.” He says, “Take me to her immediately.” A comic love story about two people trying to regain each other’s trust and love, and be good parents, while a host of wacky characters come back into his life, trying to pull him back to a life a petty crime.

BABYLAND
A rookie cop becomes a fugitive, pursued by his former partner, for inadvertently having an illegal baby in a population-control future society where you have to have a license to have sex and a permit to have a baby.

ESCAPE TO CANADA
The U.S. is in martial law and run by the Health Secretary from a quarantine center in downtown LA due to a devastating sexual plague. A just-married Dodger sportscaster, mistakenly taken downtown by the moon-suited quarantine squad, and a Canadian woman doctor, down from Vancouver to negotiate distribution of a vaccine she has developed, escape in a hail of bullets and are forced together in a desperate attempt to head north on I-5, and somehow get through several health checkpoints to get to Canada and save the vaccine, after it becomes clear the Health Secretary sees it as a threat to his power.

SATAN’S SANDBOX
Powerful and brutal (yet strangely compassionate) prison drama, based on another James Fogle unpublished novel.

DRIBBLE
A veteran point guard tries to resurrect his career and fight off the challenges of a hot rookie for the San Diego Sea Gulls in a comedy about a loser NBA team, a la BULL DURHAM.

OUIJI PAPERS
Ouiji board sends two couples to Queen Anne County, Maryland in search of a long lost Edgar Allan Poe manuscript, after the board gives surprising details, including the name of the farmer owning land where it is buried, and words from the “ouiji” Poe, who says, “I will not rest until it is found.”

ANGELS OR ALIENS
A man wakes up in the middle of a heart transplant operation, only to discover that his chest is wide open with no heart, he is hooked up to a machine, and his replacement heart lies next to him in a tray—but he is alone. No people anywhere. An OMEGA MAN or 28 DAYS LATER type sci-fi mystery drama, gradually revealing that the only people left alive are those who experienced a near-death experience at the moment a white light enveloped the earth.

 

DOUBLE OR NOTHING
After getting out of prison, slacker CHARLEY discovers that the lawyer who hired him and then set him up to be arrested by his FBI brother in a drugs-from-Mexico operation has married his ex-wife and molested his teenage daughter and gotten her into internet porn. He sets out to redeem his life, bring the lawyer to justice, save his daughter and salvage his relationship with his brother.

RUN THROUGH THE JUNGLE
Based on a true story, a few Navy guys based in a communication center in Manila, uncover a teletype black market drug scam linking ships in the Pacific with officers in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Also a story of the boys relationships with local bar girls. Drama/comedy.

ON THE PROWL
Three boys go on a wild all-night chase after three blondes in a convertible who flashed them at a stoplight. 1980s period youth comedy.

MARMALADE WEEKEND
Two guys in their 30s return to their old hometown to re-create a double date with their high school sweethearts. One is married and the other has a private agenda—he once secretly slept with his friend’s girlfriend when his friend hadn’t even gotten laid, and now he wants his friend to score to relieve his conscience. Comedy.

WYNNER TAKE ALL
The rise and fall and rise again of an unmotivated unsuccessful motivational success speaker. Co-written with comedy writer Roger Reitzel, who once worked as a motivational speaker.

DICKS
A gay and straight cop are forced to work together on an animal rights activist case which transitions into a murder investigation.

MOSCOW FIASCO
Three Playmates visiting Russia get abducted and fall in love with small-time gangsters who make them think a coup is happening by playing a tape of the ‘89 coup and telling them its too dangerous to go back to Moscow. Romantic comedy written with Nov. 2002 Playmate Serria Tawan.

SPARKMAN’S TOY
An Air Force pilot disappears while chasing an UFO. Sci-fi epic about how the pilot eventually teams up with aliens to try to rid the world of nuclear weapons.

CHRONIC
Written with director Steve Shainberg (SECRETARY), a story about rich white teens teaming up with poor, but hip black youth in drugs and petty crime. Based on a series of articles in New York Magazine.

AMERICAN SKIN—Written for producer/manager Frederick Levy (author of Hollywood 101). A runaway boy finds a home at a non neo-Nazi skinhead club in the l980s.

BRAIN DEAD
Tourists are missing on the Oregon coast. A mad doctor is at work on a deserted army base, fulfilling a long-forgotten Pentagon contract.

Action/comedy about a woman bounty hunter, loosely based on a real person and written for MGM and Geena Davis.

BEHIND THE GLASS
Comedy written for Dreamworks with actress/choreographer/producer Debbie Allen about wives, girlfriends and a grandmother of NBA players. Ms. Allen is married to former Laker Norm Nixon.

CRYSTAL CREEK
A logger refuses to cut down a tree with an eagle’s nest and is fired, forcing a dramatic change in his life and his relationship with a teacher, whom he had accused of brainwashing his 7-year-old twins against him. Written for Tri-Star. Partly based on the lives of two Oregon loggers.

THE BRIAN EPSTEIN STORY
Written for HBO, about the manager of The Beatles, who discovered them, feverishly worked for 2 years to get them recorded, then died at the height of their fame.

NIGHTLINE
Interscope project about a celebrity club and party promoter for the stars in New York City.

DOING TIME AT THE ALAMO
Written for Signboard Hill and based on an award-winning play, a story about several women who congregate at a motel near a prison, where they visit the men in their lives.

DEADLY EMBRACE
A woman, brought in to view a suspect in a police lineup after her husband is murdered, is thrown into an interrogation room and accused of conspiring with the suspect in the murder after she picks out a woman cop (put in the lineup to have enough bodies) as the killer.
